Former prime minister Scott Morrison gave his first interview since Saturday’s federal election defeat.

The MP will return to his home in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire as Anthony Albanese takes up residence at The Lodge.

Mr Morrison told 6PR sister station 2GB he’s “disappointed by the result” but has no plans to retire.

“I’m going back to being a quiet Australian in the Shire!” he told host Ben Fordham.

“I’m looking forward to being a dad again.”
