Sections of the vital East-West rail line have been washed away by flooding in South Australia, with more heavy rain forecast to complicate recovery.

Despite 80% of supplies arriving in WA by rail, Western Roads Federation CEO Cam Dumesny told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that they are expecting little disruption, citing the preparedness of local businesses.

“We’ve had a number of disruptions over the years so the retailers have actually been bolstering warehousing stock here in WA,” he said.
