The Australian National Budgerigar Council National Titles are a big deal; so much so, there’s a social media blackout on all the contestants.

In order to “preserve the integrity” of the titles, judges are banned from social media for 30 days before the event.

ANBCN delegate Troy Holmes told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the competition has hundreds of entrants who all respect its long and storied history.

“You can look at a budgie, and I guess a good judge can identify it,” Mr Holmes said.
