‘Gut-wrenching’: Firefighters make tragic discovery at Port Hedland home
The mother of three young children found dead inside a Port Hedland home after a house fire is assisting police with their investigation.
Firefighters made the grim discovery of the children, aged 10, 7 and five months, after bringing the blaze under control on Tuesday evening.
6PR Breakfast host Gareth Parker said emergency services were alerted to the fire about 4.45pm on Tuesday, with detectives at the scene on Anderson Street on Wednesday joined by forensics and specialist investigators from the major crime division to continue their probe.
“There is a lots that we do not know about this tragedy, police are expected to hold a media conference later today,” Parker said on Wednesday.
“It’s hard to get your head around this but it’s believed one of the three children is an infant.”
