Scientists have delivered a “final warning” on the climate crisis, saying rising greenhouse gas emissions are pushing the world to the brink of irrevocable damage.

ANU’s Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions Institute director Professor Mark Howden told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings dependency on traditional fuel sources is limiting our ability to limit a potentially devastating environmental disaster.

“The science says that meeting 1.5 degrees [maximum temperature rise] is not compatible with additional coal, gas and oil projects,” he said.
