FIFO chaos as Pilots extend strike

FIFO workers travelling on Qantas wont be going anywhere after Pilots voted in favour of striking for six days.

It’s going to cause a headache for mining companies travelling on the flying Kangaroo as Australian Federation of Air Pilots make up 90 percent of the pilots at Qantas regional and charter flights.

AFAP Senior Industrial Officer Chris Aiken told Oliver Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live he was instructed by members to escalate strike action after Qantas simply walked away from negotiations.

“Our members were absolutely livid with at what the company had done, they said you can’t just walk away from negotiations  and you can’t just take off items that were on the table.”
