‘Feels like a fairy tale’: West Coast Fever break 25-year-old drought with first Super Netball premiership
The West Coast Fever have won their first Super Netball premiership, defeating the Melbourne Vixens 80-59 in front of a record crowd at RAC Arena.
Just under 14,000 fans witnessed the Fever dominate from start to finish, with captain Courtney Bruce telling Mark Gibson “it definitely feels like a fairy tale”.
“25 years, it couldn’t be more fitting that we won it this year, and so many of us have been on this journey for such a long time together,” she said on 6PR Breakfast.
“Lots of highs and lots of lows, but to finally get this and to have it around it around my neck right now, it’s a credit to the people that have come before us and the people who will come after us because we have a great culture here at this club.”
