Farmers can’t give sheep away as bottom falls out of live export industry
As Millsy and Karl discussed this morning on 6PR Breakfast, there is a growing number of farmers desperately trying to give away hundreds of sheep as lamb prices crash – despite record costs at the supermarket.
Boyup Brook farmer Charles Caldwell opined on the Federal Government’s decision to phase out live exports, and the effect it’s having on the bottom line.
“Once you take the confidence out of the market, it just fades away until there’s nothing left,” Mr Caldwell said.
