Fans slugged for Oasis tickets prompting calls for ‘dynamic pricing’ investigation
Some Oasis fans have been charged hundreds of dollars more to secure tickets to the band’s reunion concert prompting calls from UK government officials to end the practice of dynamic pricing.
RMIT University senior economics lecturer Dr Meg Elkins spoke to 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead and said dynamic pricing allows a ticketing service to charge more if the entertainment event experiences a surge in demand.
“Of course it’s unfair – it’s exploitative and it’s the market at work,” Dr Elkins said.
