The parents of a young girl killed in a Broome helicopter in 2020 have spoken out, claiming the helicopter tourism industry is “unsafe and poorly regulated.”

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau have reported an investigation into the accident revealed known structural issues with the helicopter before it crashed.

6PR News Reporter Erin Harwood told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings Amber Jess Millar’s parents Fiona and Clint Benbow had shared their sorrow over the incident at a press conference today.

“[Ms Benbow] witnessed her little girl getting into that helicopter, and she actually saw it crash and was a first repsonder,” Ms Harwood said.

The family said they decided to speak publicly in an effort to prevent similar accidents form occurring in the future.
