A Health Department investigation is underway after a one-year-old passed away following admittance to Perth Children’s Hospital last week.

The baby was reportedly put on a gluten-free diet by a doctor outside of the hospital not long before she died.

Family rights advocate Suresh Rajan told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the family didn’t receive clear information on what was wrong with her child.

“There’s no issue with the attention she received while she was at the emergency department; I think it was some of the issues post-that, where they were being kept in the dark,” Mr Rajan said.
