Family of Rod Marsh yet to decide on state memorial for WA cricketing great

The family of the late cricket legend Rod Marsh is considering an offer from the WA government for a state funeral or memorial for the 74-year-old.
Cricket WA CEO Christina Matthews told Liam Bartlett the family of the iconic wicketkeeper, who died in South Australia on Friday from a heart attack, was waiting for more information on the funeral plans of another Aussie cricketing icon, Shane Warne, who also died on Friday from a suspected heart attack while on holiday in Thailand.
“The family is in a bit of a state at the moment, so we are waiting to hear,” she told the Mornings program.
“I think it’s safe to say the funeral will be held in Adelaide but potentially there will be a state memorial in WA.”
