A young family has been lucky to escape a house fire with minor injuries, and are warning the public to take care with their appliances.

Tahnee Rogers told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings they had moments to spare before the fire engulfed their bedrooms.

“A faulty power switch that had a power board connected to it had caught alight,” Ms Rogers said.

“My bed and my room were completely in flames in a matter of minutes.”
