Rabbit numbers are set to soar after the federal government fails to fund a new biocontrol to manage the pest.

Jack Gough, CEO of the Invasive Species Council, explained to 6PR Breakfast host Millsy and Karl that WA pastoralists report rabbit levels are already back to those seen in the 1990s, threatening WA’s native flora and fauna:

“Over 300 native species that are on the pathway to extinction in terms of being assessed as threatened, rabbits are one of the key reason for that,” he said.
