Extra police presence in Carnarvon fails to improve youth crime
Carnarvon Shire President, Eddie Smith, told Gary Adshead that more needs to be done to combat the juvenile related violence in their community.
Additional police officers have been deployed to the Carnarvon area, however locals continue to live in fear as youth crime remains out of control.
“The leadership of our government over the last 30 years has failed our communities, and Carnarvon is only one of many,” Mr Smith toldĀ 6PR Mornings.
“There’s no consequence, there’s no accountability and there’s no respect – if we can get these back into our community, it will go a long way into solving the problems that we have.”
