Cyclone Narelle has already caused significant damage in Exmouth, with residents comparing the impact of the howling winds and heavy rain to the devastation of Category 5 Cyclone Vance in 1999.

Matt Gates, of Tackle World Exmouth, reported to 6PR Morning hosts Millsy and Karl that the situation is “pretty scary”.

“There’s people that have lost their roofs and there’s trees down, we’ve had a shed blown to bits. It’s pretty bad,” he said.
