Unpopularity doesn’t faze PM as he locks horns with Liam Bartlett

The Prime Minister touched down in Perth on Tuesday for a major defence announcement ahead of three days campaigning across Western Australia.
Scott Morrison locked horns with 6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlett on JobKeeper’s success and refused to comment about his low popularity, particular in WA, ahead of an impending federal election after a recent Newspoll declared him the most untrustworthy PM in 10 years.
“The polls will say what they say but the Australians are the ones who get to make a choice,” he said.
In a wide-ranging chat on 6PR, Mr Morrison also touched on:
– federal government investments in WA
– WA’s responses to the COVID-19 pandemic
– Low wages and cost-of-living impacts
– The Russia-Ukraine conflict
– How JobKeeper impacted the Australian economy
