EXCLUSIVE: Clive Palmer launches fresh $50m court action against Mark McGowan

Billionaire Clive Palmer will file fresh legal proceedings seeking $50 million personal damages against WA Premier Mark McGowan, Attorney-General John Quigley and two members of the State Solicitor’s Office, alleging deceit, dishonesty and malice against one of his companies International Minerals.
The legal action comes as the United Australia Party founder launched a major advertising blitz in today’s paper, which shows the war of words between himself and the WA Premier over the state’s hard border is still alive and well.
“We hope the people of Western Australia won’t be burdened with their legal costs, because when you’re dealing with dishonesty and deceit, it can’t be argued that these sort of allegations aren’t in the public interest,” he told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings.
The aftermath of the pair’s last verbal stoush has yet to play out, with the legal showdown over defamation action to go ahead in Sydney, where Mr McGowan and Mr Quigley are expected to front up.
