Today is World Chocolate Day, possibly mankind’s greatest culinary invention.

The celebration prompted 6PR Breakfast host Mark Gibson, in the chair for Gareth Parker this week, to delve into the history of the sweet delicacy, which was originally only bitter in taste before the Europeans added sugar in the 16th century.

Interestingly, eating chocolate creates more endorphins in the brain than kissing… a fact he revealed to listeners just a day after the world celebration International Kissing Day yesterday!
