With World Bee Day happening this weekend, apiarists (i.e bee experts) are urging everyone to get out and enjoy the benefits our black-and-yellow friends bring to our back yards.

Saturday will see an exciting World Bee Display set up in Murray Street Mall which will explain precisely how bees help keep ecosystems running.

WA Apiarist’s Society President Stephen Boylen told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons it’s a chance for everyone to learn what bees give back to us.

“We’re hoping to show people the amazing work that goes on within a bee colony,” Mr Boylen said.
