Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese have traded verbal blows, with the Prime Minister accused of an “outrageous slur” at the first leaders’ debate of the campaign trail.

6PR Breakfast host Gareth Parker said he was impressed with the performances of both Liberal and Labor leaders, particularly Albanese.

“I thought this debate had more substance and was a little more uplifting,” Parker said.

“No knockout blows, mostly civil, though there was this moment when the issue of China and the Solomons came up.”
