Eagles defenders helping kick team goals

The West Coast Eagles struggled to another Derby win on Saturday night, but with skipper and defender extraordinaire, Shannon Hurn, taking out the Glendinning-Allan medal, Josh Kennedy says the Eagles backline is the best in the business.

“They’re a fantastic unit, they’re a very close unit in the way they go about their business,” Kennedy told 6PR Breakfast.

“It’s always great from our perspective at training, with pre season stuff we were able to play on some of the best defenders in the AFL, which helps you as a player,” he says.
“To be able to score goals at training is pretty hard, so if you know you’re getting a few games against them, you know you’re going to be alright against the rest of the comp.”
