Despite supporting in principle the majority of recommendations that came out of the parliamentary inquiry into e-rideables, the WA government has decided to wait for national reform.

This lack of urgency has deeply disheartened Brooke Lane, who lost her brother Leigh (41) in a 2025 scooter accident in Kalgoorlie.

Brooke spoke at the inquiry and told 6PR Morning host Simon Beaumont that she felt disappointed by the government’s response, stating:

‘I feel like I wasted my time,’ and adding, ‘Nothing’s happening, and the more they push it not as a priority, it just won’t get done,’ she said.
