A 28-year-old man has fled the scene after the car he was driving allegedly crashed into the side of a house in Cloverdale.

He returned a short time later and recorded a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08.

The car ploughed through a fence on the Belgravia street property, causing extensive damage to two walls, the roof and gutters of the house.
