On the back of the news that affirmative support for the Indigenous Voice to Parliament campaign has dropped, those behind it say there is still much more to be said and clarified on the referendum before it happens.

YES 23 Campaign Director Dean Parkin told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings he was sure there would be adequate support for the vote if the question wasn’t overly politically filtered.

“I can understand concerns that people have, and I can understand people that have been at this their whole lives wanting to make sure it’s a success,”  Mr Parkin said.

“But we’ve heard a lot from politicians and we’ve heard a lot from lawyers, and I think it’s about time we heard from other members of the community that do support this.”
