Dr Karl Kruszelnicki spills the beans on almond ‘milk’

Popular Australian scientist Dr Karl Kruszelnicki has caused a stir with some of his followers after steering them away from almond milk for its nutrition fails.
Dr Karl, 73, told 6PR Breakfast host Gareth Parker regular dairy milk, soy milk, rice milk and even peanut milk were better alternatives.
“Almonds are just wonderfully rich in fibre, in protein, in calcium, in vitamin E and monounsaturated fats, but the problem is, most of these get lost, in the production of milk,” he said.
According to Healthline, 240ml of almond milk only contains 39 calories, 3g of fat and 1g of protein, whereas soy milk contains 100 calories, 7g of protein and 4g of fat.
