A passenger on board a flight which experienced a mid-air drop, says bodies hit the roof, leaving some in tears.

Flight L-A 800 was travelling from Sydney to Auckland when an instrument panel blacked out, causing strong movement on board.

One person is in a serious condition and 11 others are in hospital.

Brian Jokat told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast there were a lot of injured people and damage to the aircraft.
