Door-to-door COVID testing across Perth to uncover undetected infection

A door-to-door testing project this weekend will try to uncover the level of undetected COVID infection in the Perth metro area.
Researcher Professor Nick Golding, from the Telethon Kids Institute and Curtin University, said random households across Perth would be asked to undertake COVID tests to reveal how much undetected infection is in the community.
He told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast similar projects in Queensland and across the UK found high levels of undetected infections there.
“We know here and in other parts of the world that not every person who has COVID will go get tested,” he said.
Dr Golding said participants would be notified of their test results by Monday.
“It’s really minimal, we’ll just be asking a few questions… and they’ll be helping us understand what is going on.”
