More than half of the community is getting their news content directly from social media. 

Professor Andrea Carson of La Trobe University spoke to 6PR Morning host Sean Cowan about the importance of newspapers and whether there will be a place for them in the future.

“We know that Australians are concerned about encountering misinformation and that they can’t easily sift fact from fiction,” she said.
