The Novak Djokovic saga has continued through another day after the tennis star was included in the draw for the 2022 Australia Open, despite ongoing concerns over the status of his visa.

However, despite the decision, the world number one still may not be able to compete in the tournament.

3AW and 6PR tenniscommentator, Shane McInnes, says a decision needs to be made.

“It is casting a dark cloud, I think, over the Australian Open,” he said.

Four days out from the Open, Federal Immigration Minister Alex Hawke, is still yet to announce whether he will cancel Mr Djokovic’s visa under section 133c of theĀ Migration Act.

“It doesn’t look good for Novak Djokovic, but it’s embarrassing for the Federal Government now – make a decision,” Shane McInnes told Perth LIVE.

“If it’s not made tomorrow, just throw in the towel and let him stay because it’s just getting beyond a joke.”
