The International Association of Athletics Federations’ decision to ban transgender athletes from world-ranked competitions has been heavily criticised by the transgender community.

Just Equal Australia spokesperson Sally Goldner told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings she felt a mixture of “disbelief and almost disgust” at the decision.

“It send a very poor message to trans and gender-diverse people worldwide that you can’t really be involved in an equal way,” she said.
