Facebook owner Meta and British American Tobacco have earned themselves the inaugural Exploding Vape Award and Dirty Ashtray Award respectively for their questionable practices.

The Australian Medical Association and and the Australian Council on Smoking and Health “awarded” the companies in a ceremony in Perth this morning.

ACSH Co-executive director Laura Hunter told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings despite mandated rules against the advertising of vapes, they continue to be marketed to young people.

“Just like the devices themselves; it’s relentless and it absolutely has to stop,” Ms Hunter said.
