DFES issues hazard warning after sewage dumped on Bullsbrook

Article image for DFES issues hazard warning after sewage dumped on Bullsbrook

Bullsbrook residents impacted by a bushfire north of Perth yesterday are now under a Hazmat alert after sewage wastewater was used to extinguish yesterday’s fire.

The Department of Fire and Emergency services says drifting spray may have dropped residual bacteria on surrounding properties.

DFES Deputy Commissioner of Operations Craig Waters told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast they are currently investigating how the incident could have happened.

“We have an exhaustive log of no-go zones they can draw water from; those two ponds are definitely not part of that,” Mr Waters said.
