The footy world watched on today as the Gold Coast Suns announced they would be parting ways with senior coach Stuart Dew, just six days after publicly backing him to lead the club.

The Wide World of Sports team put the issue front and centre on Tuesday night with former Eagle Will Schofield perplexed by the decision and its timing.

“Last week, he’s our coach, if he coaches well he’ll be coaching long into the future. And within less than a week, gone. I mean, that’s a joke isn’t it?”

Schofield took aim at senior figures off-field, questioning their ability to remain steadfast in the face of adversity, describing them as “devoid of any real leadership”.
