Demand to feed kids at school is growing with Foodbank reporting more than 50 per cent of WA’s schools are now signed up to its free breakfast program.

Foodbank WA chief executive Kate O’Hara told 6PR Afternoons host Julie-Anne Sprague there were schools located in “strong, solid, middle income suburbs” that the hunger relief charity never thought would have applied for the program.

“There is no doubt that cost of living is a real issue for many people,” Ms O’Hara said.
