The head of Australia’s defence forces has warned current and former soldiers they may have their medals revoked, a move which has sparked outrage amongst veteran’s groups.

General Campbell originally called for merits given to special forces soldiers in Afghanistan to be revoked following 2020’s Brereton Report, and has continued to raise alarm bells over the issue.

Army veteran and military lawyer Glenn Kolomeitz told Gary Adshead onĀ 6PR MorningsĀ he believed the timing of General Campbell’s warnin coincided with whathe called a “defence personnel crisis.”

“I believe that Angus Campbell is rolling out his medals magic trick again to deflect attention away from his own leadership failings,” Mr Kolomeitz said.
