WA Liberal Party leader Dr David Honey says he’s not concerned with rumours that he’s about to be replaced by Libby Mettam, the only other Liberal MP in the WA lower house.

It comes as reports emerged that Federal Liberals were urging the state branch to delay the move until after the federal election.

“There’s a few things I worry about when I get up, and I don’t worry about stories like this in The West,” Dr Honey said on 6PR Mornings.

“There is no discussion within the State Parliamentary party about this, this is a story that’s come completely outside the organisation … it’s a story that has no particular basis.

“But as I say Liam, I really, honestly, do not spend a millisecond worrying about it, I have to focus on the Labor Party, and making sure we’re doing a good job we’re opposing them.”
