WA’s Chief Health Officer Andy Robertson has warned the number of daily COVID-19 is expected to soar.

Between 20,000 and 25,000 cases a day are predicted by the end of the week, however Premier Mark McGowan said he’s focusing on the hospitalisation figures.

It comes after 12,266 new cases were recorded on Monday, with 314 people with COVID-19 in hospital.

The number of intensive care patients also increased by one to 11, and there was one death.

There are 88,934 active cases in the state.
