Cushy jobs for Liberal Party-linked individuals ‘no coincidence’

A rush of plush government appointments with direct links to the Liberal Party did not have to be made before the federal election.

On top of recent appointments to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Productivity Commission, the Australia Council, and many other government boards and authorities, this latest slew appears to be no coincidence.

6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlett last week challenged federal Attorney-General Michaelia Cash on why 19 Liberal Party-linked individual MPs were appointed to highly-paid, long-term contracts or had their current terms extended.

“The Attorney-General was very insistent that these appointments ‘had to be made’ but it turns out today that most of these appointments were not due to end for another two years,” Bartlett said on Thursday.
