Curtin University hoping one-year course will combat teacher shortage

Curtin University has reinstated a one-year graduate diploma of teaching, in a bid to fast track students into the workforce.

Head of Curtin University’s School of Education Professor Jeff Brooks told Julie-Anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons it’s a course that caters for a wide range of people.

“The idea is that this is a pathway that really recognises both academic achievement that they’ve done in a university in a degree and then we also take a look practical work experience as well”, Mr Brooks said.
