CSIRO working with Australian companies on psychedelic drug trials

The CSIRO is beginning work on medicinal psychedelics, but the specialised drugs are not going mainstream.
An adjunct professor from the respected scientific organisation, Peter Dutton, said mental health conditions that generally were hard to treat were the focus of the CSIRO’s latest work with local Australian companies to develop their products and take them to market.
“There are quite a lot of patients with these difficult-to-treat mental health conditions, whether these drugs will work for all of them, it’s not clear yet,” he told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast.
“That’s really why these clinically trials need to be run … we should have a good handle on it relatively soon, probably two to three years.”
