A Tasmanian family is hoping for assistance after an 11-year-old was left with “deep wounds” following a shark attack in Exmouth over the weekend.

Archie Blake was attacked by a so-far unidentified shark during his family’s “once in a lifetime” trip around Australia.

City of Hobart councillor and family friend Ryan Posselt told Millsy and Karl onĀ 6PR Breakfast they had delayed their trip from 2020 due to Covid, and the attack has sadly put an end to the journey.

“It’s unfortunate this has happened, but it’s a very resilient family and I’m sure they’ll get on in life; maybe they will be able to go again in the near future,” Mr Posselt said.
