Australia faces a critical vulnerability as its reserves of diesel, petrol, and jet fuel are alarmingly low, holding less than one-third of the mandated 90-day supply.

Former independent senator Rex Patrick highlighted this concern to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont, explaining that such a shortage could severely impact essential services, from food distribution to medical care.

“It only takes some sort of conflict and it doesn’t have to involve us at all and suddenly we will potentially have a situation where our supplies dry out,” he said.
