Dockers star Luke Ryan says bringing players back after time from COVID protocols could have lasting effects.

David Mundy will miss a second week under AFL protocols while defender Brennan Cox is set to return for Sunday’s western derby.

Ryan told Gareth Parker in his regular Thursday morning spot on 6PR Breakfast that players can experience high levels of fatigue.

“We’ve heard some stories from players over in Melbourne that they feel fine and then two weeks later they’ve got no petrol tickets really,” Ryan told Parker.

“Coxy will just need to get the footy in his hand a fair bit and run and push himself and see how he pulls up the next day is the main thing I’m guessing.”
