Pharmaceutial company, Pfizer, has announced they’ve got a potential coronavirus treatment and claim it’s 90 per cent effective.

The Australian Medical Association says it’s exciting news, but there’s still a long way to go before we are able to received the possible COVID-19 vaccine.

“It is pretty exciting news. It just underlines the success that we’re expecting from the 200-odd vaccines being produced around the world at the moment,” AMA President Dr Omar Khorshid told 6PR Breakfast.

“These guys are the first to come out with at least part of a phase 3 trial. Which is saying that this not only safe but it actually works to prevent COVID.”
