Councils across Perth and Peel have been forced to introduce a third bin for organic waste, but eight councils are pushing back.

Mayor of Gosnells Terresa Lynes told 6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlett introducing a third bin is not viable.

“It doesn’t sit in with what we have planned in our neck of the woods,” said Ms Lynes.

“The system that we’ve got now is much more cost-effective for us.”
