Council decision over Indiana Teahouse further delayed

Millsy & Karl

The proposed redevelopment of the Indiana Teahouse in Cottesloe will not be voted on by council this year.

The iconic building has been leased by Andrew Forrest’s investment company Tattarang, who want to complete a major upgrade of the site.

The council met for the last time this year last night to decided on the proposal, however they only recommended that the matter be deferred until January 31 next year.

Tatterang CEO Andrew Hagger told Gareth Parker all parties are “taking a deep breath”.

“I think all we can do on our side is keep engaging, be available for questions, help them in any way we can for them to understand what a great project this is,” he said.

“So I think we have to keep playing to the umpire’s whistle, and keep engaging.”
