After working alongside Traditional owners and taking community consultation has finally directed the City of Vincent to change the name of a popular reserve located on the edge of the swan river.

Banks reserve will soon be known as Warndoolier, the new name will reflect the region’s Noongar history. 

City of Vincent Mayor Alison Xamon told Oliver Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live the name change was a popular move and received overwhelming feedback from the public. 

“This is apparently one of the highest rates of response community consultation,” Mayor Xamon said.
