Contentious bill passes after marathon debate in Parliament

The federal government narrowly steered its religious discrimination bill through Parliament’s lower house after a marathon all-night debate.
The contentious bill passed through the lower house overnight with amendments put forward by Labor.
Five Liberal MPs voted against the government to support the changes.
