There’s been a mad dash for news on the state of Barry Humphries’ health, after reports went out this morning which contradicted the prevailing information.

ABC News in Sydney reported Humphries had been found in an unresponsive state, a rumour that was quickly quashed when the hospital stated he was awake and cracking jokes.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast that news wasn’t cause for celebration, however.

“I do know they’ve been increasing his morphine levels… but I don’t think anyone could pretend that Barry’s health is not in a very serious state,” Mr Ford said.

Peter Ford also talked about losing his Twitter Blue Tick, and what the changes mean for personalities on the social media platform.
